As Australia’s largest ethical breeder community for all breeds, we offer a member-only RPBA Private Stud Dog Directory. This directory will support registered RPBA members in messaging, listing, advertising and finding a stud.
To help ensure the well-being of RPBA animals being bred, and to help protect our members, we require all stud owners to have proof available to show other RPBA breeders that their stud animal adheres to the following requirements:
DNA tested and cleared of genetic variants
Up to date on all vaccinations and vet checks
Any other breed-specific testing that has been undertaken
RPBA wants to give all dog breeders and owners the resources to be able to care for all pets at any stage of life.

Easy to follow Stud and Dam mating checklists & templates
The health and wellness of the stud and the dam are critical for the development of the puppies. RPBA provides its members with easy to follow responsible breeding templates and checklists to assist breeders throughout every life stage:
Please note that we do not take responsibility for stud dogs, and it is up to your sole discretion to ask the owner of the stud animal to provide up to date copies of all relevant documents as listed above. It is your responsibility to do your own research and ask the stud owner for proof that the stud animal is happy and healthy before going ahead with a stud service. RPBA does not take responsibility for any pricing or contracts between the two breeders.
DNA testing (genetics)
Confirm he carries the dapple/merle gene
Screen for inherited diseases like PRA (progressive retinal atrophy)
Eye exam (ophthalmologist)
Checks for hereditary eye conditions that can lead to blindness
Spine/back assessment
Dachshunds are prone to Intervertebral Disc Disease
Some breeders do X-rays or scoring to reduce risk in puppies
Patella (kneecap) check
Ensures no slipping kneecaps (common in small breeds)
General vet health check
Heart, weight, temperament, overall condition
Nervous system / Neurologic - Associated with the brain, spinal cord and nerves

RPBA has been excellent to deal with from start to finish. My application was processed within 24 hours and their breeder offerings are great.
