The vet audit process involves two parts :
1. Animal Assessment Document + Breeder Acknowledgement
2. Virtual Vet Audit
All of the above must be submitted to RPBA within a 3-month period to be eligible for Full Membership.
RPBA recommends ensuring that you have all of our documentation prepared for submission before booking in your Vet Audit.
These documents will be emailed to you once you have clicked the Request Documentation button above.
1. Animal Assessment Document + Breeder Acknowledgement
You will need to submit to RPBA your Animal Assessment Document + Breeder Acknowledgement. This is for you to fill out the details of your breeding animals and the litter your females have previously had.
This document will need to be taken to your regular veterinarian to initial and date that your animals are fit and healthy and have been seen by a vet within the last 12 months.
The breeder acknowledgement is for members to sign and return showing that you agree to the conditions of the RPBA Code of Ethics and will comply with the requirements of being an RPBA Full Member.
2. Virtual Vet Audit
Once you have ensured that you are in compliance with the Virtual Vet Audit Checklist you are able to book time for your audit with one of the members of our In-house Vet team.
This will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and will require you to have a device (e.g. a smartphone) that you can carry around your premises with you to show the vet each item on the checklist.
The fee for your Virtual Vet Audit is $199 (please see Terms & Conditions for fees applicable for cancellations or non-compliance).
Below is the process:
- Select a time & date that suits you best & make your payment.
- You will receive an email with a confirmation of your booking.
- Ensure you have Google Meet Desktop or iPhone or Android installed & working on your device.
- Ensure your device has a camera & audio working so you can move around your premises during the audit.
- At the scheduled time & date, click “Join with Google Meet” using the link that was emailed to you.
- Give the vet a “tour” of your breeding set-up.
- The vet audit will occur in order of how the items appear on the Vet Audit Checklist.
The vet will tick off whether you are in compliance with the audit requirements and then send the results to us.
If for any reason there are areas which the vet feels you need to improve upon before they can mark you as compliant, you are able to take some time to make these improvements and then book in for an additional time slot. This will be for a fee of $70 and you will only need to show the areas where you were unable to have ticked off in your original audit.
Please be aware that once you have had your Virtual Vet Audit undertaken you will be required to submit all other documentation to RPBA (Animal Assessment Document and Breeder Acknowledgement and any relevant images) within 3 months.
If you are unable to submit all documentation during this 3 month period, you will be required to have a new audit undertaken to be able to be approved as a Full Member.
Full Membership Approval
Once you have completed your vet audit and submitted your animal assessment document and breeder acknowledgement, the RPBA vet support team will review all of these documents and approve your Full Membership.
Your membership will be moved from the Probationary Membership listing and we will email you with your Full Membership certificate and the details for your Orivet DNA discounts.
Physical Vet Audit
If you would prefer to have a vet come to your premises to conduct a physical vet audit, please email [email protected] to request the “Physical Vet Audit” documentation.
Please note that you will be required to organise and pay for a vet in your area to come to your premises to conduct this audit. RPBA has no control over the costing for or availability of a vet for a physical vet audit.
